Royal Athlete was easily the best but he was slovenly riddn and won on hia own courage. Louis Wag-nor cami strongly at the end. He is a very slow beginner and had O Brian been able to keep him up a litte closer in the early stages he woud have won. Cnrinne C. made up mnch ground through the stretch. Maria Elena had no mishaps, Bhe was off running when the field broke and showed a lot of early speed but quit when the pinch came. Mbj Thomey could not negotiate the distance. Lindsay, on Man, waB kicked while at the post and Watson substituted. Royal Ath ete, show, 3 to 5. Louis Wagner, ahow, 2 to 5. Corinne C, Bhow, 5 to 1. Hengist indulged Mona R. with the lead until well in the Btretch, then came away and won with plenty in reserve. Kiss Quick, under indifferent handling, ran a good race and finished resolutely. John Morton waa a contender throughout. Colonel Gay began slowly and waa slightly interfered with at the half. Fearful is over-rated and did not show much Bpsed at any stage. Talpa raced himself into exhaustion Ik the first five eighths, but hung on gamely under punishment in the laBt quarter. Paul Croyton was cut off soon after the start and was in close quarters all through the stretch. With clear sailing he would in all probability have won. Sambo ran his race and had no mishaps. Huter Baina was never a serious contender. Scratched 28240 Varner, 96. Overweights Paul Creyton, S pounds. No show betting. FOURTH RACE 1 Mile and 70 Yards, Purse 00. Van Hoorebeke showed his usual early speed and did the retiring act a little later than formerly. Chappaqua can do better with good handling. Glenwo d was always outrun. Alice Turner likes mud. The Bronze was Demon, very weakly handled, ran a very good race and probably can do better. Fitzkanet rm well to the stretch and will bear watching. Prior rpn a very pour race. Libbie looked well, bat ran as if sulky. Miss Aubrey waB coughing in the paddock. Nannie Nolan was practically left at the post. Scratched 24853 Found, 104; 28265 Onr Lady, 98. Miss Thresa loBt ground by being taken on the outside but shs finished strongly and was gainine at the end. Tea Gown tired in the last furlong. Dandy Jim tired and quit badly after going seven eighths and did not run hiB race. Wine Press can do much better.
