BROOKLYN JOCKEY CLUB STAKE?. The stakes of the Brooklyn Jockey Club, which elbsed on the 15th of August last, and which will be run for in 1902 and 1903, have received nearly 50 per cent, more nominations than were ever made to the eame eventB in any previons year. The best comparison can probably be made with the present year, during which the sports of the turf have been supported to a greater extent than ever before. The following table, however, will show at a glance the increase in the different stakes : Stake. 1901. 1902. The others will not be decided until 1903. The Hindoo is a new stake of the value of .5,000, the distance a mile and a half, and will be run for the first time at the autumn meeting of 1903.
