He faltered for an instant at the stretch turn, then came faBt in the stretch. Marque was given a poor ride but finished sturdily, tshe went the lorg way and ran well in the stretch. Paul Crey ton showed early speed but was poorly ridden when the pinch came in the stretch. Colonial Girl ran a remarkably poor race. Usually fast she did not show any high measure of spetd here. It was a falsely run race. Fitzkanet was left flatfooted, began slowly ran around the field at the three-eighths and was winning easily when OConnor overconfidently eased him up.
