GOSSIP OF THE TURF. The racing scene will shift back to the Fair Grounds next Monday. President Lucas of the Kinloch track has shipped a string of five horses to Harlem to bo racsd around Chicago for the balance of the season, and this, together with the fact that all the bar fixtures have been ordsred removed from under the grandstand at the Florissant Valley track, would indicate that the idea of reopening the track this year has been abandoned. This will leave the Fair Grounds in undisputed possession of the field for the few remaining days of the legal Beason. The Delmar meeting, despite the most unusual difficulties, has been remarkably successful. The bitter attempts to close it were foiled, one after another, the attendance kept up remarkably well, exceeding perhaps, the Fair Grounds average, and the sport has been very free from scandal of any sort The most peculiar feature of the whole meeting, however, has been the fact that during the time the Kinloch track was running the Delmar attendance was better than in the days sncceeding the retirement of the Florissant Valley, track from the fray.
