Sir Vere d Vere improved suddenly and in company with Mynheer passed Midnight Chimes in the final stride. Mynheer was going strongest and would have won in another stride. He got away very badly and met with interference at the head of the stretch. Midnight Chimes Tan a good race. Tempt tired after carrying Lady Berkeley to exhaustion.
