SARATOGAS NEW STAKES. The calandar of this week announces the conditions of the big stakeB to be run over the Saratoga track in 1903 and 1901. Tho stakes for 1903 are the Spinaway for two-year-old filliee and tho Hopeful for two-year-olds, both of course being for foals of 1901. The Spinaway is of the guaranteed value of 4,000 and the Hopeful of 5,000. The two Btakes to be run in 1901-are the Great Republic for now foals and upward of the guaranteed value of 0,000 and the Hopeful which is of the estimathed valuo of 0,000, being made a produce stake for this year as it no doubt will be thereafter. Entries to these rich events will close December 2. 1901. The conditions of the most important stake, tho Great Republic, road as follows,: For now foals and upward. The Saratoga Association to guarantee the gross value of the stakes to be 0,000, of which the owner of the second horse shall receive ,500 and the owner of the third horse ,500. The, nominator of the winner to receive ,000 out of the stakos. Liabilities as follows: For now foals By subscription of 0 each. If left in after August 1, 1932, a further subscription of 5 ; if left in after January 1, 1903, a farther subscription of 5; and if left in after January 1, 1901, a further subscription of 25. For now yearlings. By subscription of 0 each. If left in after March 1, 1902, a further subscription of 0 each; if left in after January 1, 1903, a further subscription of 50 each ; and if left in after January 1, 1901, a further subscription of 50 each. For now two-year-olds and upward. By subscription of 00 each. If left in after March 1, 1902, a farther subscription of 00; if left in 1 CONTINUED ON FIFTH PAGE. SARATOGAS NEW 8TAKE3. Continued from First Page. after January 1, 1903. a further subscription of 00 each; and if left in after January 1, 1904, a further subscription of 00. Starters to pay 00 additional. Winners,, when three years old or upward, of ,000, when carrying weight for age, to carry 3 pounds extra. Non-winners of ,000 in 1903 or 1901 allowed 7 pounds. Non-winners of ,500 in 1903 or 1901 allowed 10 pounds. Non-winners of ,000 in 1903 or 1901 allowed 15 pounds. In the case of a foal produced by a mare or a stallion not having produced a winner prior to date of closing, the subscription shall be reduced by one-half, provided that said reduction be claimed at the time of entry ; but the starting fee shall ba 00 additional. In the case of foals, by filing with the Association, prior to September 1, 1902, an accepted transfer of the foal, with its engagement in this stake, the original subscriber will be released from any liability as to the engagement. Should a eubscriber or transferee die before the race the entry shall not be void, provided it be assumed by the then owner of the horse; notice in writing to that effect, accompanied by the payment of all accrued liabilities, being given within three months after such demise. If 350 entries are not received the association reserves the right to cancel the race. One mile and a quarter.
