Byrne of Roscreas speed enabled him to get to the front soon after flag fall. He saved ground by Plugging the rail and hung on with more gameness than has been his wont. Beauchamp allowed Meditation to get cut off on the turn and put up a weak finish. Royal Athlete ran a good race. Taby Tosa made a bold bid at the head of the stretch, but weakened at the end. Dewey came with a rush through the stretch and got third money by being bettor handled than Spry. The latter suffered from interference in the stretch. Irving Mayor ran ont in the stretch and this cost him third place. Swordsman had badracing luck. The same applies to Grey Forge.
