NOTES OF THE TURF. The Empire City race track near Yonkers, N. Y., was sold yesterday by Beferee Blankson Morgan to Frank Farrell for 18,000. Farrell refused to say who he represented or what was to be done with the track. It is said that Thomas Welch will go to La-tonia next spring with about thirty horses owned by JuliuB Fleischmann, of Cincinnati, and help aslfar as possible to make that meeting a success. James F. Caldwell, the veteran racehorse starter, is reported seriously ill at his home in Saratoga, N. Y. He has bean prostrated several weeks with sciatica. Benator.Thomas F. OGrady, of New York, is branching out aB an owner of racers. William Lakeland is training a couple for the senator. Morinel is running nowhere near to the good form she displayed last year on the coast. "Patsy" Freeman has arrived at Ban Francisco.
