The Giver waited on Lapidus to the Btretch and after an early drive to get up came away in a canter and was much the best. He is in rare form. Lapidus displayed brilliant and lasting speed and ran in greatly improved form. Hainault was unable to compete with the early fast pace and failed to show hie usual tenacity in the stretch. Ishtar broke flatfooted, made up much ground and was going strongly at the end. Winnscook and Ban Lution were outclassed. Scratched-29897 WhiskerB, 104; 298808t. Phillipina, 103;-29915 Phyllis, 101. Artilla broke poorly and was compelled to go wide on the stretch turn, but came with a rush at the end. El Mido, beaten for second place in the last stride, was used up in closely following the winner. Dr. Bernays failed badly in the stretch, and is consequently in bad form for him. Josie G. broke flatfooted but quickly raced into a good position behind Tower of Cundles and running under restraint appeared n sure winner throughout, drawing away at the end without much effort. This phenomenal filly ia not registered neither is her sire. Her dam was by Langford and her origin is lost in obscurity, was bronght over the plains in tho old days of the Argonauts by her present nwnor. Tower of Candlos, a quick breaker and fresh and good, set a terrific pace but her big lead waa easily wprn down by the winner. Homestoad, a slow breaker and out of place in sprints, was outrun and tangled up for the first quarter but closed a hopeless gap in the stretch and was swerving in tho last furloDg.
