Rasselas was much the best, ran Semicolon into submission in tho first half and then came away as his rider pleased. Loone finished strongly after making up much ground in the last quarter. Semicolon was well spont when a fnrloug out and would have lost third place in another stride. Trebor closed up ground fast in the last eighth. He is running to his best form and bears watching from now on. Cougar had enough after six furlongs had been run. Delia Ostrand showed early speed. Jack Rattlin was easily the best, set a very fast pace and came away with eaie in the last eighth, Herodiade ran to his best form, stood the hot pace with gameness and finished strongly. Burnie Bunton lacked that keen turn of speed shown on a fast track, but ran a good race at that, tiring only in tho last sixteenth. C. B. Campbell ran a dull race In going to his liking. He was a keon contender for four and a half furlongs and then fell away badly beaten. Hanover Queen was always outrun. Jack Rattlin, show, 1 to 2. Herodiade, show, 4 to 5. The latter ran to his best form, closed up fast in the last quarter and, under a hard ride, responded with great gameness. Harry New fell away badly beaten a furlons: out. He appeared to have a chance turning for home, having been a keen contender up to. that time. Digby Bell was never a serious contonder. The winner, entered for ,300, was run up to ,600 and bid in.
