LOCAL TURF GOSSIP. Jockeys Cobnrn and Dade, who were suspended indefinitely by the Judges last week, were yesterday restored to favor and both boys will again be per mitted to ride. The suspension was not to be lifted until today, but Buchanans sudden illness after the second race made it necessary for Coburn to ride Nickey D. S. C. Hildreth purchased Ravensbury from R. C. Tucker before the races for 00. M. H. Tichenor and Co. have secured second call on jockey Ranchs services for the remainder of the season. The boy is under contract to Burns and Waterhouse. The track yesterday was rapidly drying out and should no more rain visit the course there is still a chance for some records to be lowered before the meeting closes. Jockey McCann, who was suspended by Judge Rees at New Orleans last winter for a bad-looking ride on Jessie Jarboe, had his first mount yesterday since Rees set him down. He rode Dr. Hart for M. Goldblatt, to whom he is under contract. Albert Simons bid up and secured for ,200 the two-year-old, Farmer Jim, which won the first race. Charley Ellison, his owner, offered to sell the colt last Saturday for ,700. Simons was offered ,500 for his new purchase immediately after he had seoured him. Jockey Buchanan was taken suddenly ill after he dismounted from Ravensbury. A doctor was hastily summoned, who pronounced the jockey suffering from a mild attack of pleurisy,
