Layia moved up fast when turning for home and eaBily passed into the lead in the last sixteenth. Matin Boll showed speed, but tired fast when challenged by the winner. Limelight finished strongly as did also Irmas Choice. Ida V. made up ground in the last quarter. Huzzah was done for when a furlong from home. Rasselas ran nowhere noar to his best form. Mda showed speed, but tired fast in the last three furloDgs. Xiendin and Foxy Kane ran nowhere near to their best form. John McGurk was much the best at the weights, and when called upon in the last eighth simply ran away from the field. Nitrate showed much speed and was much the best of the others. Hermencia was hold too far out of the race, Buchanan making his run too late. The gelding finished strongly and got up in time to nip Argregor on the post for third money. The latter tired fast when the pinch came. He has probably gone back some. Artenas race was too bad to be true. She was a badly beaten horse after running seven furlongs. Federals high class prevailed at the end. He came with a great rush at the end after making up much ground and won in the last strides by the shortest of margins. Brularo ran an impressive race, coming from nowhere in the last quarter and finishing with great determination. Andes showed sudden improvement and ran a good race. Nickey D. tired badly when the pinch came and ran far below his best form. Marta Santa showed a keen turn of spoed for five furlongs. Money Muss was right there until a furlong from home, where he foil away beaten. Scratched 33675 Headwater, 102. Overweights Mr. Phinizy, 1 pound. Federal, show, 11 to 20. Brnlare, show, 2 to 1. He finished strongly and was willing, but Munro was of no great help to him in tho final strides. Rollick II. finished strongly and woro down Lady Chorister at the end. Tho latter was well spent when a sixteenth out. Alene Abbott showed early speed, as did Benckart. The latter runs bost on a muddy or soft track. Tho winner, entered for ,300, was run up to ,500 and bought by C. E. Durnell.
