Girdle, a quick breaker, sustained her superior speed in improved fashion and was bost today. She is a grand looker. Grantedale finished like a good one, closed a big gap, had a rough journey and must be of high class. Boutonniere, by bearing out on the stretch turn, lost considerable ground and can do better. . Mansard, probably Bhort, displayed brilliant speed and tired at tho end, is evidently of good clasB. Fig-ardon was nearly left, closed an immense gap and ran a remarkable race. Elliott went to post sore and is probably reserved for later events over a distance. He has worked six furlongs in 1:14 flat. Cate- s chise fell out of it at the start. Guy Park will improve. Rowdy suffered from a costly error over the Liverpool and nearly fell, but recovered quickly and outgamod Clasher in a final drive through the last quarter. The latter showed superior form as a jumper and should win before long. Victor fell and was remounted and finished well. Tankard, very unruly and poorly ridden, is a non-stayer. Plater broke running and made the most of his advantage, held the lead very gamely throughout and ran to his best form. Grey Friar ran like a stayer and finished with a tremendous rush. Wild Thyme put up a fast and game race. River Pirate broke slowly, but saved ground on the stretch turn an i only failed right at the end. He can do much better. Flying Jib closed a big gap. Scoffer was nearly loft and ran on the extreme outside and was closing up very fast. Minotaur tired and was easing up in the last sixteenth. Himsolf led throughout to tho stretch and hold on gamoly and is an in and outer. The Rival appeared like coming on when straightened for tho wire, but fell behind Himself unaccountably, then came again right at the end when too late and was going fastest of all at th-i finish. Andy Williams, outrun and under pressure for tho first mile, was closing up with tremendous strides in tho last quarter! Baroucho failed to stay and was outclassed. Wild Pirate favors mud. The lattor had forced Port Royal at a terrific fast pace and drew away, when straightened tho apparont winner, but was unprepared for Douros rush Port Royal tired in the stretch drive.
