John Bright, ridden to perfection, was not called upon until well into the last quarter, where Winkfleld took him a little to the outside and he finished strongly, going away fast at the end. The track had dried out enough for him to run to his best form. Aladdin stood a long stretch drivo with sameness. McChesney closed up ground fast in the last quarter and finished resolutely. The going was somewhat against him. Haviland was thoroughly beaten when a sixteenth from home. Nitrate was a keen contender for a mile and a sixteenth. Six Shooter moved up fast just before turning for home, but tired palpably when the pinch came. Flora Pomona showed much improvement and is worthy of attention from now on.
