Ailyar appeared not to take kindly to the going and ran a dull race. Winkfield saw he had no chance to beat the winner and did not punish Ailyar. Leviathan finished going fast and showed improvement. Kite Star lost some ground when turning for home, but made it up in the last eighth and under a vigorous ride outstayed Blue Miracle in the closing strides. The latter ran a surprisingly good race and stood a long stretch drive, with gamoness. Judge Himes, off poorly, made up ground fast after the first quarter had been run aud finished strongly. It was his first start and he made a favorable impression. Tancred tired palpably in the last sixteenth. Galba ran a bad race, tiring badly in the last eighth. tostar! shoff!Ao3. Tor-reon disputed the race with Captain Conover until after taking the last jump, where he began to tire. Wenlock jumped without a mistake, but showed scant speed on the flat. Ada S. G. lost her rider at the fourth jump. Greek Dollar fell heavily over the sixth, Stamp went down at the ninth, and Icena and MaZScratched 844062Dr. Nowlin, 140; 34106 Lord Farandole, 148. Lucien ADDleby outclassed the field and plainly showod it He was not called on until well turned for home, where he moved up fast and had Nitrate beaten in the last seventy-five yards, Buchanan purposely drawing a fine finish. Nitrate ran to his best form and showed much speed, but was not quite good enough. Flying Torpedo tired fast in the last quarter.
