I.OOAI. TTJBF GOSSIP. JockeySBuchanan was suspended "for three days yesterdaybythe starter, for "all but his employer S. C. Hildreth, for attempting to beat the barrier on Best Man in the third race. Bavensbury, the winner of the last race, entered to be sold for 00, was bid up to ,4C0 by J. P. Mayberry acting for C. B. Ellison. 8. C. Hildreth, the owner, bid ,600 and retained the horse. Jockey Coburn Swas given a sharp lecture by Judge Trevelyan for rough riding in the first race on Hindi.f1 The rider claimed, that on account of his mounts mouth being sore, he could not control her. T. H. Byan was fined 0 for sending Flyer to the post before being schooled to the barrier. Lingo, which started in the. third race yesterday, will hereafter not be permitted to start at Hawthorne on account of her inconsistent running. Jockey T. Meade, who was injured by a fall at Harlem on Senor and taken to the Garfield Park Sanitarium for treatment, was yesterday at the track. He is still in bad condition and it will be several weeks before he will be seen in the saddle.
