Won driving; second the samo. Rowdy, hard ridden all the way, trailed the pacemakers, which raced from the start at top speed, benefited at their expense and cauxht them tiring at the end, winning a lucky raco right on the pot. Judge Phillips is one of the best steeplechasers seen in recent years, displayed brilliant and enduring speed throughout and but for a costly error at the last obstacle, where he also seriously interfered with Fulminate, would have won easily. The latter forced th pace throughout, and but for interference over the last jump would have been an easy second. He is in rare form, but was unable to concede the weight. Galahad finished strong and ran in much improved form. Semper Ira was a secure fourth throughout, and when close up dangerously fell at the last jump, but ran a cracking good race. Won handily; second driving. Ord-nung got away running, made the most of this advantage leading by a safe margin throughout, is in great form and nearly unbeatable in soft going. Sadducee also received a lucky start and being skillfully handled saved second place from the fast coming Smart Set. The latter broke fiatfooted, worked a rough passage in and out of pockets, finished like a flash and was probably best. St. Finnan had no mishaps and failed to stick at the end after being prominent to the stretch. Potente went well and was a contender for second place a furlong out. Wealth, away badly, movpd up fast. in middle half and tired after a hard effort. Young Henry can probably do better. Irish Lad drew clear of the field in the last quarter and finished with a rush and was allowed to win by his stable companion, Acefnll. The latter was pulled up at the end after leading unextended throughout and was possibly best and is evidently a crackerjack. Hurstbournes speed was reserved in the first part of the raco and he made good in game fashion in tho last quarter. Whitechapel came from a long way back and was running fast at tho end. Golden Maxim followed tho pacemaker closely and was forcing the pace for the first six furlongB and tired accordingly, but ran a good race and should have been third, The others were outclassed. Blues, having no-difficulty in taking a long lead early, ran kindly throughout and was best today. Igniter is a genuinely-improved horse and ran a good race, but was lucky tobeat Major DaiDgerfield. The latter wore himself out in an effort to outrun the winner early and was evidently not keyed up for such a hard race and can do much better in mud. Bonnibert trailed far back for a mile and a quarter and finished tho last quarter fastest of all except tho winner. The others were far outclassed. The entry, show, out.
