LOCAL TUKF GOSSIP. John W. Schorr was among the visitors yesterday at Harlem. In speaking of his plans for the coming winter he stated that the horses he raced in the east during the summer months have all been shipped to Memphis. The majority of these, or such horses as he thinks will prove winners, will be sent to Now Orleans and will be campaigned there. Mr. Schorr has entered liberally in the stakes to be decided over the Crescent City track and should receive a fair share of the money that will be distributed by the Crescent City Jockey Club. Mr. Schorr is negotiating for the services of a good eastern jockey whose name he does not care to divulge at present. Jockey Coburn lodged a complaint with the judges after the fifth race against jockey Hoar, who rode Lord Touchwood, claiming that tho latter had cut across twice and forced him to pull up. The claim of foul was not allowed, but Judge Hamilton fined jockey Hoar 0 for reckless riding. Starter Dwyer also fined him 5 in the last race for disobedience at the post. W. Shannon, who has been booking on the eastern tracks during the summer, arrived from Toronto yesterday. He reports that "Kid" Weller will arrive today and will draw in for the remainder of the Harlem meeting. H. Gardner, the owner of Scotch Plaid, which finished third in the Prairie State Stakes, claimed Rolling Boer in the same race paying ,730 for him. Last night Judge Hamilton decided that Emma A. M. shall be hereafter barred from running at Harlem because of inconsistent running.
