Senator Morrison began slowly and appeared to have little chance after the first quarter had been run, but in the final quarter made up ground fast and passed the horses in front easily in the last eighth. Florestan closed up ground fast in the final furlong and finished strongly. .Joe Buckley tired fast after running five furlongs. The route was evidently too long for him. Start fair. Won driving; second easily. Evelyn Byrd ran an excollent race. She was practically beaten off while going down the backstretch but moved up fast just before turning for home and came through the last quarter very fast, getting up in time to win on the post. Lady Contrary after showing much speed tired perceptibly when challenged by the winner in the closing strides.. Private Nolan was well spent when a furlong out. Mountebank was penned in apinst the inside rail all through the last eighth or he would have been third. Alfred C.as usual, showed early speed. Sandflea ran well for a half mile. Old Fox wbb at his best and ingoing that he likes, came away without much of an effort after the ninth jump had been taken and won as his rider pleased. Bristol, badly outrun up to the eleventh jump, made up ground fast thereafter and finished strongly, easily outstaying Crest. The latter was much the best of the others, but was no match for the winner this day at tho weights. Dagmar finished strongly and would have been third in a few more strides. Harv B. ran well up to the seventh jump. Captain Cono-ver labored heavily throughout and was never in the hunt. Overweights Harv B., 5 pounds. Old Fox, show, 1 to 2. Bristol, show, ovens. Flyinz Torpedo showed sudden improvement, revelled in the going and when called on, after running well no seven furlongs, went to the front easily and made the field appear cheap. Rolling Boer waa easily the best of the others. Scotch Plaid ran a good race, but tired slightly in the last eighth. Lacrimae ceased to be a serious contender after seven furlongs had been run.
