Sir Tom Tiddler was oft well in motion, was at home in the going and showed early speed but was driving hard at the end to stall off Wellesley. The latter ran a good race. He began slowly but closed a big gap and finished fast. La Montagne showed speed but was tiring at the end. Junaetta was eased up when beaten. Lord Radnor had a rough trip and ran a good race. Won easily ; second the same. Bonnie Burr was on the outside at the start in the good going. He showed much speed and had something left when June Collins challenged, came again at the end and won going away. June Collins was hustled along all the way and tired when it came to a drive and was all out to stall off Russell Garths challenge. The latter ran a good, game race. Glen Water trailed along until when rounding the far turn, where he moved up on the inside, tte finished in the deep going, outgamed Gold Cure when it came to a drive and got up in the last stride. Springwells was easily the best, went around the leaders at the far turn and camera way without much effort in the run home. Arachne made up ground and hung on gamely when the pinch came. Hand Vice blundered when going over the thirteenth jump, almost unseating Heider, but the latter scrambled back into the saddle and finished the course without his feet in the stirrups. Highbee fenced well but quit when caught. McManus was going easy when he made a bad landing at tho double jump the last time around. He unseated Gaylor, but was remounted and finished the course. King Top, fell at the double jump the first time around. Bob Alone was remounted but refused the water jump. Scratched 354222Wenlock, 165; 35422 Cousin Jess, 146; 35596 Chairman, 135. Gormley took lllowaho back in the run down the backstretch, then went to the front when ready and came away without much effort in the last furlong. Benckart showed a lot of speedbut tired in the stretch Handcuff finished strongly under a drive. Khaki was crowded back when rounding the first turn and was swerving all over the track in the run home. Alfred Vargrave is sure to improve over this race He was not persevered with and can do much better. Scratched 354183Lone Fisherman, 106.
