Start fair. Won easily ; second driving. Charlie Grainger showed improvement, was lucky throughout, came with a rush iu the last furlong and won going away. Ezra was poorly ridden and stumbled at the end, but was an easy second. Annie Grace sustained her speed well and should win soon. Ray can beat this kind but was probably short and tired in the stretch, where he was pinned in next to the rail. Mac Ana closad a gap. The latter, much improved, forced the pace throughout and held on gamely t the end. Merito closed a big gap from a bad start. St. Finnan was overweighted among this kind, but is in his best form. Kalif was outclassed at the weights. Martin Burke made his best showing tbui far of his eastern career, finishing very strongly. Bellario is in bad form. Ascension tired rivht at tho end. Circus, away badly, was turned loose and hippid iuto a prominent position in the first half, and in spito of a poor ride ha outstayed the others and was a good horse at the end. Tom Kenny injudiciously forced the pace, which on the hill course is generally suicidal. Star of the West was not good enough Bar le Due trailed and was close up at the finish.
