Fake swung a little wide when turning for home and closed up ground fast in the last eighth, wearing down Evelyn By rd in the closing strides. The latter also finished resolutely, but could not quite reach. Edinborough showed much speed but tired in the last eighth struggle. Best Man ran a good race, coming with a rush at the end. Reina de Cuba was right there for five fnrlongs, but faltered in the last sixteenth struggle. Ailyar showed a little early speed, but fell away badly beaten when turning for home. Foxy Kane showed his usual turn of speed and displayed much gamenesi in the last sixteenth struggle, standing off Apple Sweets determined bid gamely, The latter ran a good race and would probably have won with a stronger ride. My Surprise met with early entanglement but made np ground fast when turning for home after swinging wide. He finished strongly under a good rid. Gold Bride tired slightly when the pinch came. Rankin made up ground fast in the last quarter. Albemarle, as usual, showed some early speed. Clivoso ran well for a half mile. Scratched 34708 Will Shelly, ICS; 35616 Impetuous, 101. Nitrate made up gronnd fait in the last quarter and would have been third in another stride or two. Major Dixon fell away badly boaten after five furlongs had been run. The Don acted badly at the post and besides got away flatfooted. Prince of Endurance was well spent when a furlong out, after showing much speed up to that point. Scratched 356162Pericles, 104. Caliban was bumped out of position at the first turn losing several lengths. He made up ground fast i in the last quarter and finished with a rush.
