LOCAL TURF GOSSIP. Ethylene, the winner of the fourth race, ran a sensational race from a time standpoint. She practically only cantered the last eighth after sotting a fast steady paco in the early stages. Despite the fact that she was eased up in the last sixteenth, she tied the track record of 1:39, held by Federal. Had Ethylene been forced out she could have easily set the mark at a much lower figure. E. J.
