Gilfain moved up fast when turning for home and finished strongly. Gold Bride tired slightly when the pinch came. Naulahka showed much speed, but was well beaten when a furlong from home. Gravina easily wore Angelo down in the last eighth, but had to be driven out to stall off Mallorys determined bid in the last thirty yards. The latter closed up ground fast in the last quarter, but could not quite reach. Musical Slipper saved ground by being taken next to the inside rail when entering the last quarter. She tired fast at tha end and would have lost third place to Sarah Maxin in another stride or two. Angelo tired fast in the last eighth. The Crisis bad no chance from where she got off. Montanic beat the barrier two lengths, but it availed him nothing as he showed scant speed throughout. The winner, entered for 00, was run up to 05 and bought in. Chickadoe stood a long stretch drive with gameness and finished resolutely. Count Em Out, cut off badly at the first turn, made up ground fast while going down the backstretch and contested every foot of the last quarter with Chickadee. Jena tired slightly when the pinch came. Pirates Queen showed some early speed. King Barleycorn ran well for almost six furlongs. Silurian ran a dull race.
