Birdwood came with a rush on outside of the leaders in the stretch run, caught St. Bluff tiring at the end and got up in the last couple of strides. St. Bluff was off well in motion, showed a lot of speed and meed Hazel Ray to defeat in the first half. The latter tired and quit when the pinch came. Ruby Ray saved ground at the turn into the homestretch but tired in the last sixteenth. Overweights Lizzie Loy, 21 pounds; Lady Midas, 2; Flossies King, 3. Birdwood, show, 6 to 5. John E. seemed beacon at the head of the stretch bub rallied and came again in the stretch run and was going away at the finish. First Mason was hustled aloDg all the way and made a bold bid at the furlong post but faltered at the end. Harold Keeling was interfered with soon after the start and ran a good race. Sardonic was off all tangled up and had to go all around her field to get to the front. She was only cantering at the finish and won goins away. Facade showed a lot of early speed, raced Pat Garrett to exhaustion and finished strongly. Trocadoro was under a drive all of the last furlong.
