Tribes Hill received a lucky start, was well up at first and then seriously interfered with and had a rough passage in the stretch, but, when with clear sailing, was brought up with a rush at the end and was best. Brunswick, crowded back at the start, worked into the lead in a half and tired right at the end. Morokauti forced the pce throughout and hold on gamely. Maiden was badly ridden and taken wide on the stretch turn. Rapponecker closed up ground steadily and was going strongly at the end. Isia, away badly and vnsound. favors soft going. St. Daniel was going fastest of all at the end and was best. Rosetint recovered from early interference and closed np well in the last, quarter. W. R. Condon ran a dull race and was tiptoed from start to finish. Illyrias improvement is genuine. Gimrack and Florham Queen, both slow beginners, had rouerh journeys.
