GOSSIP OF THE TURF. Fred Taral has returned from another season of riding triumphs in Austria, Hungary and Germany. Taral is as much pleased as ever with racing on the Continent, and will return there February 20, next year. He is undor contract to Baron TJtchritz and Ander Von Pecky, partners in an extensive racing stable, while Baron Springer, the Austrian banken has second call on his services. The stables for which he rides have over 100 horses in training during the raciDg season. Tarals wife and his twelve-year son, John F., who spent the season abroad, returned with him. The youngster exercised horses during the season, and will ride next year. He weighs forty-eight pounds, and his fond father says he will make the best rider ever born in America. William Fleischmann, who managed the stable of Julius Fleischmann, the Mayor of Cincinnati, sailed for Europe a1w days ago. He had a successful season on the turf and cleared up 0,000. He was 5,000 ahead of the game, but lost 5,000 on Hur.bourne, his cousins colt, in the White Plains Handicap. The defeat of this colt cost Jesse Lewisohn 5,000, but the loss of that large amount did not make the young coppor king behind in his betting transactions for the year. This big commission was placed in the ring by two clubhouse messengers, C. Fellowes, Jr., son of the secretary of the Coney Island Jockey Club, and T. Kelly, a nephew of the senior member of the old firm of bookmakers, Kelly and Bliss.
