Circus has been steadily improving and showed ability to go a long route. He revelled in the mud, but had to be hard ridden in the last half mile to catch Carbuncle, was all out when he got up and was under the whip at the end. Andy Williams finished the strongest and was gaining at the end. He was interfered with on the turn out of the backstrotch and would have won in a few more strides. Carbuncle tired in the final furlong when he had the race in hand and Rice went from a pull to a drive. The route wa3 too far for Huntressa. Major Mansir was outclasssd. Creamer had Moon Daisy under a pull all the way.
