Carl Kahler was lucky in gettiDg off well, showed the most speed and was never in trouble at any part of the journey. Tillo was crowded back at the start, but made up a lot of ground, caught Bengal tiriDg and outgamed lk camo to a drive. Bengal had no mishaps, was well ridden and was free from interference all ii!; the way. Leviathan was caught in a jam at the start and crowded out of it. H. had no chanc- from whaiaha got oG. Flaneur had to go all around his field. Preetorius was tiring in the last furlong. Maple ran a good race as also did Inspsctor Shea. Scratched 36352Andes, 106. Henry McDaniel was easily the best, raced Pride of Galore to retirement in the first three-eighths and easily drew away in the stretch run. Shrine was in close quarters in the first quarter and was repeatedly bumped into, but came fast when she got clear and outgamed Lord Melbourne when it came to a drive. The latter came wide into the homestretch. Mallory and Pride of Galore were made too much use of ana tired. Soothsayer was off tangled up. Fuller took him back in the first half and saved him for a final effort in the stretch, wore Prince of Eudu at c down in the last quarter and was going away at the end. Frank M. finished fast caught Prince of Endurance tiring in the last furlong and outgamed him when it came to a sharp drive Prince of E idurance showed a good order of speed, but Preston made too much use of him. De Reszke sot in w jam at the first turn and was crowded b tck and was not persevered with. The last three at the start were as good as left at the post. Huzznh ran a good race. Jack Demund was under a drive all through the last quarter and came wide into the homestretch Lady Stirling snfferad from a bad ride, was taken into several pockets and finally came to the outside at the stretch turn and finished strongly. Compass ennght the leaders tiring in the last quarter and finished strongly, bnt had to be hustled along at the end to stall off Santa Teresa. The latter closed a big gap and finished with a rush and wan gaining on the winner at the end. Irving Major was taken wide at all turns and outgamed Leflare when it came to a drive. Too much use was made of Leflare and he tired in the stretch run. Overweights Compass, 11 pounds. No show betting on first three.
