GOSSIP OF THE TURF. f"T? Jockey O Connor has returned to New York from New Orleans and will remain there until he is raquired to start for France, which will be in February. He says that the racing at New Orleans was badly handicapped by tha "path" on the outside of the track, which made every race a lottery, all depending upon which of the horses drew outside position. Durnell and Herz, who recently claimed Sarner out of a selling race at New Orleans from John W. Schorr, have returned tha horsa to his former owner. Sarner is a hard horsa to train, and Durnell, rather than take the risk of breaking him down, accepted a small profit on this investment.
