Harry went through his field with a rush in the run down the backstretch, carried Glennevis to defeat in the first half and fighting it out all through the last furlong, finished very gamely under a drive. Pageant is a Blow beginner, but closed a big gap, finished with a rush and would have won in a few more strides. This is the first time Pageant has run his race at the meeting. Farmer Jim tired in the last fifty yards. He seemed like the winner at the sixteenth post. Scratched 36616 My Surprise, 112; 36523 Anzeiger. 110. Overweights Judge Cantrill, 2i pounds. Tillo wore the leaders down in the run down thef backstretch, saved ground while ronnding the far turn and came through on the inside at the turn into the homestretch and drew away, cantering at the end. Dutch Carter was driving to the limit at the end to stall off Sarilla. The latter finished strong and would have been second in another stride. Playlike showed early speed and ran his race in carrying Meran too fast in the first half. Moranda was shut off at the start and crowded back. Scratched 35819Hengist, 107. Hanover Queen was used up in chasicg the winner and tired at the end and was driving to the limit to stall off Water Edges challenge. Golden Rule outclassed his field, ran Death to retirement in the first quarter, took command with all ease and came away cantering at the end. Antonius lost ground by coming wide into the homestretch, but outgamed Death when it came to a drive. The latter showed early speed and for the first time at the meeting ran his race. Erne came all around the leaders at the far turn, caught Cogswell tiring in the stretch run and outgamed him when it came to a drive. The winner made a tired swerve in the last fifty yards and carried Cogswell over toward the inside rail. The latter was beaten at the time and it cut no figure.in the result. Rice made his run too soon with Cogswell. Had he waited until the last quarter he would have won. Marcos was under a drive all of the last quarter. Banish quit. Irving Mayor was interfered with several times. Trocadero ran well to the stretch, then quit badly. Scratched 36592 Potheen, 90. Overweights Erne, 1 pound. Erne, show, 1 to 2. Cogswell, show, 1 to 2. Sweet Alice began slowly, but wore the leaders down while rounding the far turn, caught Suburban Queen tiring in the stretch run and was going away at the end. Suburban queen was off well in motion, is a qnick breaker and showed all the most early speed, but tired at the end. Helen Hay closed a big gap, finished fast and outgamed Mrs. Frank Foster when it came to a drive. Semper Primus was as good as left. Overweights Helen Hay, 1 pound ; Semper Primus, 3, Suburban Queen, show, out. Helen Hay, show, 4 to 1.
