Thane saved ground at tho turn into the homestretch and outgamed Whangdordle when it came to a drive. The latter was on the outside in the good going the entire trip and tired when called on in the last sixteenth. Madania wis outrun in the first half, but closed a big gap while rounding the far turn and finished in the deep going. Itacatiara showed speed and was a contender for the first six furlongs. Peat was outrun for the first half, but Otis kept him on the path until reaching the turn into the homestretch, then saved a lot of ground at this point and fought it out with Russellton all of the last furlong. Otis outrode Battiste when it came to a finish. The latter put up a weak finish on Russellton which showed . the most early speed. Blue Ridge was under a drive all of the last furlong, but was easily the best of the others. Willard J. was in the deep going all the way. Maghoni ran well, but was carried into the deep going by Blanco while rounding tho far turn. Tho latter tired in the last furlong, but ran a good race and is worth remembering. Chickadee showed improvement, but tired when called on. Pyrrho did his best and was tiring in the last hundred yards. Welcome Light tired and quit badly. Flora Levy was cut off while rounding the far turn and sent to her knees. Scratched .6899 Swordsman, 112; 36831 Leenja, 93. Rankin, show, 2 to 5. Chickadee, show, 1 to 2. Pyrrho, show, evens.
