Rasp got away poorly and worked a rough journey, raced wide into the lead on the stretch turn and retained his advantage to the end without urging. Doreen received a bad start and came on from last position, finished like a whirlwind and at the weights was probably best. Claudator was crowded in the last furlong, but finished fast and gamely. Platonius was under the whip throughout, excessively used and tired at the end Harry Thatcher is in good form, but favors soft going. Rose of Hilo quit in the stretch. El Pilar ran a fast middle half from a bad start and tired in the last quarter. Scratched 31925 Sailor, 109. Corrected weights Harry Thatcher, 104; Esternell, 94. Past Master rnced around the entire field on the turns and finished out the last quarter like a whirlwind and was best. Mr. Farnnm was closing up well at the end. Fort Wayne, away poorly, was pocketed at the half and nearly fell, but recovered quickly and flashed through in the stretch, then quit suddenly when a furlong out and evidently sulked. Brode was lucky and led unextended throughout and far outclassed the field. He can probably beat the best in training here, being apparently sound. Dome Wiethoff improved suddenly and displayed much speed and stamina. Bornota got away poorly, made up much ground and finished going fast and is an improved horse this year. Tizona was crowded back at the start and closed a big gap. Handpress, 6oriously interfered with at the half, was running fast at the end, Rey Daro, nearly left, closed a tremendous gap. Bedners chances were destroyed at the start. He9par, away badly, made a poor showing and actod as if sulking. Azarine was also bumped out of the race at the start. Sleeping Child ran a very bad race.
