Chiquasabog was in a soft spot and simply cantered all the way. Pinetop waB as much the best of the others. Mox Mox came fast when straightened out. Colonel Zack had a rough journey. Hoffler avoided the early pace and never made a move until the final eighth was reached, when he sent his mount along and, coming fast, nipped Halberdier in the final strides. Halberdier ran a good race, but Walker was of little assistance to him at the finish. Marcy tired when strongly urged. Nightingale was used up in chasing the pacemaker and pulled up lame. Postillion outclassed his field, raced to the front at flagfall and was never thereafter in trouble. Cologne II. was pinched off at the stretch bend, but came again and finished fast. St. Sidney did his best. Lady Lusk seemed dangerous when entering the stretch, but quit in the stretch run. Latonkas rider was hit in the nye with a clod and he pnlled up.
