GOSSIP OF THE TURF. The Crescent City Derby will be run on Saturday, March 14. The distance is one mile and an eighth. Redfern has never come so near fatal injury in his career as in last weeks tumble and he is in need of a rest, it is said. Those who saw the mishap say that it was only through a miracle that the boy was not killed outright. G. B. Morris is 6aving Sombrero for the Brooklyn Handicap.
