Huzzah was lucky in getting off with the leaders and escaping interference while rounding the first turn, came to the outside at the turn into the homestretch, finished fast and got up in the last stride. McWilliams was bumped into and crowded back while rounding the first turn, then closed a big gap, but tired after getting to the leaders. Balm of Gilead was much used racing with De Reszke in. the first, half .. Albert F. Dewey and. .Great American hsbtb knocked out of it at the first turn. Annie Lauretta was well ridden. Kinsler nursed her along for the first half, caught Socapa tiring in the stretch run, finished fast and was going away at the end. Locust Blossom closed a big gap and finished gamely under a drive. Munro made too much use of Socapa, which showed early speed, but tired and quit under pressure. Alene Abbott ran a poor race. St. Cuthbert was fractious at the post, reared up and fell and began a bit slowly, then closed a big gap but tired in the last sixteenth and was driving to the limit at the end to stall off Jim Clark. The latter was on the outside for the entire trip, made up a lot of ground, finished fast and would have been second in another stride. The latter was given a weak ride, Pollak never made a move until in the last sixteenth, but she finished fast through the last hundred yards and was catching the winner at every stride.
