Amasa beat the barrier and made the most of his advantage and held on in improved fashion. Gibraltar, suddenly improved, received a lucky start and had clear sailing, but was tiring badly right at the end. - Mildred Schultz from an indifferent start, raced quickly into prominence, but tired and may have been short Lansdown went well. Golden Light forced the pace throughout, came away in a canter at the end, and was best. Hipponax was easily best of the others, but received a bad start and was repeatedly interfered with in going to the stretch where he bumped his way through the field and was an easy second. Azarine. lightly weighted and lucky, outstayed Bogus Bill after a long drive. The latter has suddenly improved and ran a good race. Imperious showed early speed but quit badly. . Rapid Water with a lucky start and displaying superior speed drew clear in the first stride and made the running at a terrific pace and going away fast at the end, was the best and is evidently another crackerjack. Tocolaw and Cascine fought it out from the start to the finish and Tocolaw gained a lucky verdict in the last stride under a vigorous ride. Cascine was pinned in next to the rail, is a slow beginner and gave evidence of favoring a longer route and was second best. Celebrant broke and ran green, but closed up a tremendous gap and ran a high class race. Rapid Water, show, out. The entry, show, out. Cascine, show, out. Tocolaw, singly, place, 9 to 10"; show, out. Constellator led unextended throughout and won as if he by far outclassed his field. Gal-anthus, away badly, worked a rough journey to the stretch where he finished fast under a bad ride and just got up. St. Sever followed the winners pace closely, but went wide ori the stretch turn and swerved across the track at the end which beat him for second place. He displayed improved speed and stamina and was easily second best. Lady Kent failed to stav under the weight and at the distance. Rose of May was always outrun. Scratched 375GGLapidus, 99. Oriania from a lucky start forced the pace throughout and drew clear without great urging on the far turn and easily held his own in the stretch drive. Johnny McCartey is steadily improving and finished with a rush, but was swerving badly at the end. Star Cotton was pinned in next to the rail in the last furlong and but for this would have finished second. Ohio Girl, nearly left, closed up a tremendous gap and ran the best race of her career. Lone Fisherman sulked today and was lucky and had no mishaps. Matin Bell was left and only cantered out the journey. Frank Pearce showed early speed. Start good. Won easing up; second easily. Glendenning spreadeagled the field. A quick breaker he gained a winning advantage at the start and left the field as if it was anchored. Mocorito, fresh and good, finished fast, outstaying Rag Tag after a long drive. The latter was probably short and can do better, was a good horse for a half and unexpectedly tired when called on. Sea Lion found the company too fast and with the others was outclassed. Quartre made up much ground in the last three furlongs. ,,,..,, Scratched 37499Matt Hogan, 110; 37534 Organdie, S2.
