NOTES OF THE TURF. M. Goldblatt has bought from George Hin-kle Rainland, a big bay colt by Rainbow-Fable, and therefore a half brother to the winners Barrack, Fayette Belle and Albemarle. The colt is highly tried, haying shown a half in 50J seconds over the Memphis track, and he cost something over ,000. Joseph A. Murphy, who was spoken of as presiding judge and general manager of a proposed race meeting at Seattle, Wash., will not act in those capacities. Horace Egbert, of San Francisco, has been given the position. There will be two months of racing at Seattle in June and August. The following additional horses have been declared out of the Carter Handicap: John A. Scott, Janeway, Rightful, April Shower and Monograph. Cedric, John Maddens Mirthful two-year old, is said to be the best looking youngster in Kentucky this spring.
