Bernice met with interference and ran a good race. Bessie B. came wide at the turn into the homestretch and tired when the pinch came. Lola Nance and Nettie E. quit badly. Both are quick breakers. Senator Morrison raced Floyd K. to defeat in the first half and finished gamely through the stretch. Floyd K. just lasted long enough to beat out Handspinner. Banter was only cantering in behind the field for the first five furlongs and came all around the others at the turn into the homestretch where he tired as if short. The latter finished gamely under a drive, but was tiring in. the last fifty yards. Automaton ran a good race and with a good rider up would probably have won, but Gleason was of no help to him when it came to a hard finish and lost ground by coming wide at the turn into the homestretch.
