Alfred C. got off well and showing the most speed all the way was never in trouble. Pericles was interfered with at the start and was crowded against the fence and had to go all around the leaders to get up, was under a drive all of the last furlong and outgamed Nearest when the pinch came. Dick Bernard was off running and showed the most speed throughout and was never in trouble. Molinos began slowly, broke from the extreme outside and closed a big gap, but tried to bear in when it came to a drive and Bullman had to stop riding to straighten him out at the furlong post. Beneficent ran well and outgamed Flo Bob in the final drive. The latter tired when called on. Manshak showed early speed. Overweights Flo Bob, 2 pounds. The entry, show, out. Molinos, show, out. The first three beat the barrier while the others were as good as left at the post. Harry New showed the most speed all the way, was never in trouble and was only cantering at .the end. Autumn Leaves seemed to have her field beaten at the furlong post, but tired when put to a hard drive. Wonderly had Elsie L. under a pull, for the first quarter and ran her into a pocket on the backstretch. Thane closed a big gap in the first half, but the effort told on him at the end. Banter was outrun for the first half and had to go all around the leaders to get up, but was going the strongest at the end and would have won in another stride. Floyd K. beat the barrier, but Donnelly took him back in the first half, then came through on the inside at the turn into the homestretch and fought it out strongly with Banter all through the last furlong. Coburn kept him under restraint for the first half, wore the leaders down while rounding the far turn and came away in the stretch run. Coburn shook him up at the furlong post, but had him well in hand at the end. Cogswell ran well and finished very fast. Loves Labor showed the most early speed, but tired as if short. El Caney quit after going a half as also did Kingstelle. Cogswell, show, 1 to 3. Loves Labor, show, 3 to 5.
