Young Morello was luckily placed to the stretch where ho made good under a vigorous ride. Loyal S. was crowded at the start, but closed a tremendous gap and has evidently come back to his best form. J. H. Bennett was always prominent, but lost ground by a wide strftch turn and was closing up with a rush right at the end. Pickaway failed to stay, but was crowded against the rail In the last sixteenth. Cherries, away poorly and in deep going, waa closing up fast at the end, but got in a hopeless pocket and was probably unlucky to los. Priestfike worked a very rough Journey and had no chance with an incapable rider. Scratched 38142 Adirondack, 92; 38193 Leash, 85. Overweights Young Morello, 1 pound; Cherries, 1; Prlcstllko. 3. Position got away poorly and trailed the field for seven furlongs, commenced a fast move at the half and rapidly wore down Kittle Kellys long lead, just getting up in the last stride and scored a lucky victory. Kittle Kelly nearly fell at the start, but rushed to the front and forced a strong pace throughout and put up a game struggle at the end. TIzona, luckily placed behind the pacemaker, ran a steady consistent race. Tufts found the journey too short, but. finished very fast. Expedient ran in bad form. Harry Thatcher likes a soft track and was evidently short. Star Cotton ran well to the stretch. Scratched 381963Rim Rock, 106; 38141 Ravino, 103; 38179 Rose of May, 97. Position, show, 1 to 6. Puss in Boots raced quickly into the lead which she maintained gamely throughout and was favored by the light weight. Milas, away flatfooted, Improved his position gradually closing up with a rush at the end and is in very good form. Dotterel was a prominent contender from the start and stuck to her work very gamely and is an improved filly. Sol Lichtenstein is strictly a mudlark, but came with a belated rush at the end. Tommy Knight went well throughout. Toto Gratiot has trained off and probably favors soft going. Scratched 38143 Sharp Bird, 112; 38089 San Lution, 101; 38122Modicum, 98. Winner B. c, by Darebin Felukah trained by j. Touhey. Went to post at 3:57. At post 1 minute. Start good for all but Water Cure. Won easily; second handily. Epicure led unextended throughout and drew away when straightened for the wire in the stretch, outclassed his field and is the best horse in training here, Autolight is genuinely improved and was forced out of position on the far turn, but finished very fast. Divina flashed through next to the rail in the stretch and seemed secure of second place, but was tiring in the last few strides. Grafter went well and ran a high class race and was going fast in the last quarter. Horton was always outrun. Leader tired and quit after forcing the pace in the winners company for seven furlongs. Won easily; second driving Marineuse received a skillful, patient ride, waiting on the pacemakers to the stretch where he easily passed them and won going away. Baffled displayed unusual and unexpected early pace and ran a game race. Bill Massie was slightly sore before the race and was outraced from the start, but came again right at the end and this race should be thrown out. Frank Woods is not ready and was never a contender.
