Sly is in rare form, received a lucky start, waited on the pacemakers to the stretch and took the lead with slight effort and was evidently best at the weights. Berendos ran well and closed up fast in the last quarter. Sharp Bird ran out as usual and was tiring badly at the end. Jim Gore II. was going fast at the end. Velma Clark ran a comparatively poor race. Dollie Wiethoff showed much speed, but was carried hopelessly wide on the stretch turn and was probably unlucky to be unplaced. Maraschino, nearly left, closed a gap. Scratched 382322Milas, 103; 382112Nugget, 103; 38089 Pat Morrissey, 102; 38070 Sailor, 100; 38195 M. F. Tarpey, 100; 38175 J. Boggs, 95. The Mighty was lucky at the start, came through fast next to the rail in the stretch after sav ing ground on the turn and appeared to have caught Ravelena napping at the end. The latter got away running and raced away in front with The Hawaiian and tired somewhat in the final drive after making a wide stretch turn. Floriana Belle closed up well at the end. Midway made up considerable ground from a bad start. The Hawaiian quit after going a fast quarter. Annie Marie ran a bad race much below her true form.
