Insolence ran well up with the leaders for the first half, caught Velasquez tiring in the stretch run and came away in a canter at the end. King Tatius saved ground at the turn into the homestretch, was under a hard drive all through the last furlong and just managed to last long enough to stall off Lysbeth. The latter had a rough trip, was cut off at the far turn and knocked back, but came very fast in the stretch. Velasquez began slowly and Helgesen rushed him up the hill, came wide at the turn into the homestretch and allowed him-to swerve across the track in the stretch run. He is in fine form. Thane swerved over in front of Huzzah when the barrier went up and Hall was of little help to him and rode him all over the track. Huzzah about ran the best race of the three, difficulties encountered considered. Banter tired after running a good race to the stretch. So did Nitrate. Overweights Barrack, 2 pounds.
