Stevedores last race fitted him and he was a good colt today. Well rated, he raced Futurita into submission and was going away at the end under a hand ride. Futurita ran a good race and outgamed Duelist in the final drive. The latter was poorly ridden and was in next to the rail all the way and tired in the last hundred yards. Schoharie was high in ilesh, but hung on well all the way. Chicle was outclassed. Scratched— 36398 The Huguenot, 126; 384593New York, 119. Overweights — Chicle, 2 pounds. Stevedore, show, out. Away poorly he made up a lot of ground and had to be hard ridden to get up, but won drawing clear North Brook was used up in racing with Pageant and tired in the final strides. Pageant ran a good race throughout and would have won with a stronger rider. Past ran in close quarters all the way. Athelroy was repeatedly interfered •with. It was a poor ride on Animosity. Remorse was practically left at the post and not persevered with. Barbara Frietchie was crowded right after the start. Scratched— 38522 King Bramble, 110; 38429 H. L. Palmbearer showed himself to be a good game colt. Outrun in the first part of the race, he was under a drive nearly all the way, came with a rush in the final furlong and got up in the last stride. Masedo forced a fast pace and tired right at the end. Molinos was shut off right after the start and was in close quarters to the stretch, closed up gamely when he got clear sailing, finished fast and would have won but for crowding. Race King ran well for over a half mile. Bath Beach could not get to the front and displayed a disposition to "bear out in the stretch. Miss Eugenie tired badly after getting shut off on the turn. Blackstock is in rare form and had a big pull in the weights. Off well, he forced a fast pace and had his field beaten at the stretch turn, but tired toward the end and Fuller took no chances, riding him out. Heno ran a fine race and stood a long drive gamely. Yellow Tail made up a big gap and finished going fast, but was in close quarters most of the way. Dr. Saylor ran well, is a fairly good colt and a consistent one. Injunction made up a lot of ground, but the effort told and he swerved repeatedly in the last sixteenth. There was too much speed in the race for Royal to contend with. He is a big colt and a rater. Herbert ran a surprisingly good race for his first out and was a sharp contender for seven furlongs when his impost told on him. Articulate did not seem able to extend himself. Hunter Raine was eased up when beaten. Mackey Dwyer got off poorly and made up some ground, but tired and Shea eased him up at the end. The first two had the race between them all the way and at the end it was simply a case of the best seasoned colt winning out by a small margin. Nameoki took a big lead on the turn, but was tiring at the end. Collector Jessup is a likely youngster and a speedy one, held on gamely all the way and should improve. Spring ran a fair race. Jim Kellys performance was a good one. Practically left at the post, he closed a big gap and finished going fast. Sterling Belle was standing still when the barrier went up. Fuller avoided the early pace with liim and rode a strong finish. Andrattus ran a good race and finished fastest of the two. Rosewater could not get clear sailing until too late, then closed up with a rush in the last furlong. Eloims performance was a good one. He came fast on the stretch turn, but tired in the final drive. Annie Grace is worth remembering in slower company. Reformer was plainly short. Star and Garter and Athelrose got off poorly.
