Well rated he forced the pace all the way and was tiring at the end and barely landed under a vigorous finish. Orloff finished well arid was slowly wearing the winner down at the end. His race was a good one. Pageant Is a strong stretch runner and the short stretch was not to his advantage, but he finished going very fast; Petit Bleu ran a fair race. Explorer would have been closer up with a good rider. Pittacus displayed early speed and was eased up when beaten. Wax Candle ran poorly and is probably overrated. Alan pulled very lame. Injunction gave away lumps of weight to all his competitors, steadily improves with each race and was skillfully handled. Gannon avoided the early pace and came fast with him on the outside of the other horses on the stretch turn. He had to be hard ridden to get to the front, but had plenty to spare at the end. Andy Williams is a good colt and he keeps closer to the leaders than formerly, but was used up catching Locket and tired in the final drive Locket ran a good three-quarters. Hunter Raine did not show much speed. Bar Le Due is worth remembering in poorer company. Scratched— 3S615 Zoroaster, 120; 36381 Young Henry, 119; 361382Allan, 93. Overweights — Bar Le Due. 4 pounds. Ninepin was under the whip, all through the stretch, stood the gruelling gamely and got up in the last stride. Race King is rounding to, and forced a fast pace, but could not quite last. Fickle Saint ran a fair race. Chockayotte was in next to the rail all the way. Wood-shade ran poorly. Bronx is a poor breaker and runs green and was swerving in the last sixteenth. The Musketeer got off well in motion, was good and fit and ran one of his old-time races. Hoar made a little too much use of him on the turns and swung wide when coming into the stretch. The horse was all out and doing his best at the end and the race should do him good. Yellow Tail began slowly and received none too good a ride, but closed up fast in the stretch and was slowly gaining at the end. Himself ran a fair race with his light weight. Invincible was speedy, but is not up to a hard race. Wealth cut up at the post and failed to show any high speed.
