He ran The Rabbit into early submission and then came away on call winning as his rider pleased. Merryflight ran an impi-essive race. She got off flatfooted, but made up ground fast in the final eighth. The Rabbit showed much early bpeed, but tired in the last eighth. Feby Blue was well spent when turning for home. Don Domo was easily best and the result was never in doubt. Determination showed much speed and ran an impressive race for a first start. Capitol finished well and outstayed Lord Tennyson in the last sixteenth struggle. The latter, Miss Hortense and Crusoe got off flat-, footed and by the time they had gotten into their stride had no chance. Scratched— 3S6692Salto, 103. Overweights — Lord Tennyson, 3 pounds. Au Revoir was not called on until entering the last quarter, where he easily assumed command and won as his rider pleased. Soothsayer came with a rush in the last eighth running next to the inside rail and under a driving finish nipped Mimo on the post. He interfered with The Don at the last sixteenth post, but not enough to change the result. Mimo stood a long stretch drive and ran a good race. Linguist was well beaten when turning for home. where he swung wide losing ground. He was probably not quite ready and the race should do him good. The Don was well spent a furlong out after showing much speed. Little pace was set in the first six furlongs. Overweights — Mimo, 3 pounds. Au Revoir, show, 1 to 5. Soothsayer, show, 3 to 5. Won driving; second the same Ahola, off flying, showed keen speed throughout and withstood The Ladys challenge in the last hundred yards with great gameness. The latter ran to her best recent form had no mishaps and finished going fast next to the inside rail. Emshee was badly cut off just be- fore turning for home and did not get clear sailing until in the final eighth, too late to bo of any advantage. . He finished going fast. If You Dare ran to his best form, showed keen speed and only tired in the closing strides. Autumn Leaves was probably best and could not have lost with an equal break. She was practically left at the post, but was persevered with and closed up a big gap in the last half, but tired in the closing strides. Scratched— 3S752Golden Rule, 122. Ahola, show, 3 to 5. Bonnie Lissak was pocketed badly at the turn for home, but closed ud fist when she got clear sailing. Meran showed early speed, but tired fast when a furlontr out Alee showed his usual speed, but maintained it for only seven furlongs. The others were never serious contenders.
