Radium broke smartly and was waited with in front. Rhyme and Reason challenged her at the sixteenth post, but Austin let out a link and Radium easily drew away. She is a big stout filly and looks like a good one. Rhyme and Reason ran a good race and showed improvement. Ascot finished fast as usual and will probably beat good ones over a longer distance. Bill Knight ran a good race and will bear watching. Scratched— 388172Pinky B., 105; 387923Bessie B., 105. Radium, show, out. Rhyme and Reason, show, 8 to 5. The entry, show, out. He was tiring near the end and may have been a shade short. Flintlock closed up a lot of ground from a bad beginning and came fast in the stretch, but was tiring at the end. Sambo scarcely ran his race and was probably made too much use of in the early stages. Bengal went well for seven furlongs. Scratched— 38796 Pharoah, 107. Overweights — Flintlock, 2 pounds.
