Blackstock got away flatfooted and suffered from early interference, was carried wide on the stretch turn, finished with a rare burst ot speed and was wearing the winner down at the end. Extralaw, running on the outside and free from interference, proved the best stayer of the half dozen that raced over the last hill abreast. Mimon was making up ground fast the last furlong running in close quarters. Hopeful Miss practically froced the pace from the start and held on gamely in spite of crowding at the end.. Miss Nancy, which warmed up sore, came from a long way back in the last sixteenth. Sailor Knot closed a big gap in the last quarter and was running faster than the leaders in the final strides. Cyprienne was crowded out of the bunch of leaders in the last fifty yards. Ogalala is highly tried, but retired early. Scratched— 38782 Miss Shylock, 91; 38552Any Day, 91. Race King beat the barrier and made the most of his advantage, leading throughout well in hand except right at the end, when he was forced out to beat Nameoki. The latter, running on the extreme outside, was badly handled and repeatedly swerving under a weak whipping finish begun a half mile from home and was much the best. Greencrest was close up throughout and held on gamely. Rusk swerved over to the rail in the last sixteenth and probably lost third place by it. Wizard was going well on the level ground in the last furlong. Destiny, away badly, had scant chance with an incompetent rider and has worked fast trials. Mizzen forged into the lead while going down the hill and retained it without urging to the last furlong, where he had to be ridden desperately to stand off Ulyrias determined challenge, but responded gamely and won going away. Illyria put up a remarkably fast and game effort. Invincible unexpectedly came into the action with a rush in the last furlong and rather easily shook off Elsie L. in the final drive. The latter appeared momentarily dangerous when breasting the last hill. Demurrer failed to stay. Royal Summons ran a bad race and fell away completely when called upon for a final effort. Alternating in. the lead for the first nine furlongs with Judge Phillips, he practically finished out the journey alone when the latter fell. Neponset ran and fenced in good style. Adjidaumo trailed for a mile and a half and made up much ground when called on. Herculean was well up throughout and an easing up fourth. He is promising as a jumper and worth remembering. Plohn lacked speed to keep within striking distance of the leaders. The Ragged Cavalier fenced badly, but was running on at the end. Imperialist fell a. half mile from the finish when he was passing everything but the winner. Judge Phillips jockey fell off at hill top jump when his mount was leading, a chief contender and probable winner. Scratched— 38239JWalter Cleary, 153. Overweights— Silver Twist. 1 pound. Articulate closed a big early gap in a jiffy and was on even terms with Old England at the end of six furlongs and soon ran into a long and winning lead when straightened for home. Old Englands preliminary was distinctly bad and his race proved that he was not at his best. Lord Turco gradually worked through the big field from a rear position at the start and closing up fast wore the pacemakers long lead down in the last furlong. Dark Planet •closed a big gap from a bad start and finished like a whirlwind. Kickshaw raced into a long early lead, maintained his speed unexepectedly well and was probably unlucky to lose in view of the excessive use made of him in the first half. Satire, poorly ridden and nearly last to leave the post, made up fifteen lengths on the leaders. Rockey was shuffled out of it early.
