Forehand moved up fast when turning for home and easily passed to the front, winning as his rider pleased. J. W. ONeill showed speed, but tired fast at the end. Soldier of Fortune began slowly, but made up ground fast in the last quarter and was passing horses rapidly in the closing strides. Elie tired slightly when the pinch came. Jim Ferrin got off flying and showed a flash of early speed. Pocassat runs best in mud. Scratched— 38944 Establish, 103; Golden Boy, 103. Overweights— Elie, 2 pounds. Forehand, show, 4 to 5. J. W. Lingo was not called on until entering the last quarter, where she went to the front easily and won as her rider pleased. Felix Bard finished going fast, easily wearing down Hindi in the last sixteenth. The latter ran well for about six furlongs. Red Tip tired fast after five furlongs had been run. Start good. Won easily; second the same. Autumn Leaves closed up fast on Burnie Bunton in the last sixteenth and easily wore her down in the closing strides. The latter showed the most early speed, but tired very fast when called on for a final effort. Uranium began slowly, but finished going fast, running next to the inside rail. Nellie Waddell was right there for five and a half furlongs. The race should do her much good and she should be hard to beat hereafter. Stem Winder carried Burnie Bunton along at a fast pace early and was well beaten when turning for home, where he ran slightly wide. Scratched— 38849 If You Dare, 101. Autumn Leaves, show, out. Jerry Lynch began slowly, but under a strong ride all through the last eighth got up in time to nip Patsy Brown on the post. The latter was much the best and easily wore down Manshak in the last sixteenth. Dominick on Patsy Brown suffered Jerry Lynch to finish first, owner Woods having declared to win with the latter. Manshak showed a great burst of early speed, but tired fast when the deciding drive came. Falkland was very green at the post and will be barred until properly schooled. Won easily; second the same. ■ Rolling Boer was not called on until entering the last quarter, where he came away easily and held the field safe all through the last sixteenth. Barrack finished going fast and was ; much the best of the others. He slightly interfered with Prince Webb in the closing strides, hut not enough to change the result. The latter showed much speed, but tired fast in the ! last sixteenth struggle. John A. Clarke was cut off badly after running six furlongs. He i rallied in the last quarter and would have been third in a few more strides. Compass showed much improvement and bears watching from now on. Scratched— 38898Bonnie Lissak, 104. JJaird moved up fast at the head of the stretch and easily passed into the lead when a sixteenth - out, winning as his rider pleased. Dutch Carter finished going fast and easily wore b ! J I j . down Jaubert in the closing strides. The latter showed much speed, but tired palpably when the pinch came. Lucy Locket ran well for five and a half furlongs. Playlike appeared to have a winning chance when a furlong out, but faltered badly when called on for a final effort. Fullback was almost thrown down just after the start and by the time he had got into his full stride was hopelessly out of the race.
