Miss Mae Day was practically left at the post, but took after her horses, made up ground gradually, came fast In the. stretch and won as her rider pleased. Sir Christopher ran a surprisingly good face in his new owners hands. Waldo gave Bengal a poor ride, took him back at the three-eighths post and let his head drop at the finish. Sambo displayed unusual early speed, clung to the leaders closely, came fast around the turn and won easing up. Jack Demund ran well to the stretch, but tired when challenged strongly. Start good. Won with all three driving hard. Cursus is an improving colt, ran well and. stayed best. He was well ridden and given a good finish. Pettijohn ran a good six furlongs and hung on gamely to the finish. Dr. Kier was next to the rail behind Pettijohn and inside Cursus all the way, was in close quarters all through the stretch and came fast under a weak ride when he got an opening in the last hundred yards. Mike Strauss displayed much speed and marked improvement. Lynch showed superior early speed, but was raced to exhaustion in the first half. Kentucky Muddle got off badly, ran around her field and closed up gamely. Lelia Barr ran well. Duela showed but little speed today. Throw her race out.
